Assoc. Prof. Toshifumi KONISHI(Visiting)〔Masu & Ito Lab〕 My name is Toshifumi Konishi and I am a new Visiting Associate Professor in Masu & Ito group, ICE Cube Center. I have researched about integrated design technique with a conventional circuit design platform for CMOS-MEMS devices, its application to MEMS sensors, and measurement system of MEMS devices. MEMS is a promising device for IoT technology in various fields. I would like to research and develop on high performance of devices and further integration of MEMS and LSI.

Advanced Materials Research Core(Concurrent Post)
Asst. Prof. Akira UMISEI was appointed Assistant Professor of Hosoda Inamura Laboratory at the Laboratory for Future Interdisciplinary Research of Science and Technology and Institute of Biomaterials and Bioengineering, Tokyo Medical and Dental University from April 1, 2017. I completed Ph.D course at Department of Innovative and Engineered Materials from Tokyo Institute of Technology. My Ph.D research theme is “Study on Mechanical Properties of Au Based Biomedical Shape Memory Alloys”. In the future, I would like to collaborate with Tokyo Medical and Dental University and contribute to research related to biomaterial development. Thank you.

Photonics Integration System Research Center
Asst. Prof. GU Xiaodong (Specially Appointed)〔Koyama Lab〕 I was appointed an Assistant Professor in Prof. Fumio Koyama’s laboratory in FIRST, Tokyo Institute of Technology from January 1st, 2017. I completed my PhD course in 2014 by the support of MEXT and JSPS fellowships. It will be my 8th year in former P&I lab and now FIRST. I will try my best to fulfill my professional duties as a new staff in this reputed laboratory. Also, it will be my pursuing target to explore and develop new science and technologies which can long benefitting the humanities in the future.

Photonics Integration System Research Center
Asst. Prof. Kamel MARS(Specially Appointed)〔Koyama Lab〕My name is Kamel MARS, I joined the Laboratory for Future Interdisciplinary Research of Science and Technology, Photonics Integration System Research Center (Prof. Koyama group) from April 1, 2017 as specially appointed assistant professor. I received my master and doctor degree from Shizuoka University in 2008 and 2012 respectively. Since then I have been working with the Imaging Devices Laboratory (Kawahito laboratory), Research Institute of Electronics, Shizuoka University as postdoctoral research fellow. My research includes design and development of low noise high performance CMOS image sensors for biomedical applications. I will be working on the development of new type of high performance 3D CMOS image sensor used for self-driving car or medical robot applications. I am glad and looking forward to work and collaborate with all of you.
