Masao Kikuchi, specially-appointed professor, and Shinji Tanaka, specially-appointed associate professor, at the
Institute of Innovative Research,Tokyo Institute of Technology received the Tokyo Institute of Technology-Komatsu Industry-Academia Collaboration Practical Application Award.Based on their joint research with Komatsu on “Theoretical Analysis Modeling of Swash Plate Pumps and Motors,” they visualized the contact conditions inside hydraulic pumps through real-time measurements and achieved research results that led to the development and mass production of pumps with improved efficiency.
