New Professor Arrives on December 1, 2023
NSK Tribology Collaborative Research Cluster
Prof. Satoshi Momozono(Specially Appointed)
I am Satoshi Momozono, who joined the Laboratory for Future Interdisciplinary Research in Science and Technology as a Special Appointed Professor on 1 December 2023. I received my Ph.D. degree in engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2012 for my research on adhesive friction of elastomers. I was a faculty member of the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering until March 2023. After moving to NSK in April, I assumed this position following the establishment of the NSK Tribology Collaboration Research Cluster. I’ve been involved in research in the interdisciplinary field of tribology (friction, wear and lubrication) since my student days, and I hope to contribute to society by developing tribology research by successfully combining the dynamism of private companies with the basic research capabilities of the university.
Digital Twin Unit
Prof. Katsuki Fujisawa I am Katsuki Fujisawa, who has joined the Laboratory for Future Interdisciplinary Research in Science and Technology as a professor effective December 1, 2023. I earned my Ph.D. in Science in 1998 from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, specializing in research on mathematical optimization problems. My expertise includes mathematical optimization, graph analysis, deep learning, and high-performance computing. In recent years, I have been working on developing and applying digital twin technology with domestic and international private companies, aiming to create industrial applications for realizing Society 5.0. By applying the latest research results directly to the field, I intend to develop new applications that will address various challenges that cities, regions, and the industrial sector face. This endeavor requires collaboration across different fields, and I look forward to working with many people in this pursuit.
