My name is Akane Yaida and I have joined Okino Laboratory of Institute of Innovative Research as a specially appointed assistant professor. I have conducted research on highly sensitive and accurate analysis of more than 60 elements for the purpose of investigating anthropogenic pollution elements including gadolinium derived from MRI contrast agent in river water and sewage treatment effluent in urban areas. In March of this year, I received my Ph.D.degree from Azabu University. In the future, I plan to continue analyzing river water and other samples. I will also be involved in “Development of ultra-sensitive high-throughput single cell elemental analysis system and creation of single cell metallomics” and “Development of injectable plasma probe for real-time analysis of drugs deep in biological tissue with high spatial resolution”, which are being conducted in Okino laboratory, as well as application research of atmospheric plasma for material, environmental and medicine fields.
