My name is Saetia Supat. I have been appointed as Assistant Professor in Laboratory for Future Interdisciplinary Research of Science and Technology from October 1st, 2021.
I have expertise in computational neurosciences. My main topic of interest is memory-related brain function in human. I aim to understand how human memory works to be able to implement system that could be interface with human more intuitively. My main field of research is utilizing fMRI to analyze brain function, along with other bio-signals such as EEG or EMG. I received my PhD from Tokyo Institute of Technology where I worked on applying computation framework on fMRI data to construct connectivity models that represent interaction between each brain regions during particular task or state. The resulting models were further studied to extract knowledges related to the brain function of interest. In my thesis, I have constructed models of brain function related to episodic memory. I want to further my research to improve computation technique that can extract robust information from bio-signals so that we can better understand how brain or nervous system work. I hope my research could contribute to the advancement in human-machine-interface knowledge and technology.
